I think it’s because you can’t really control falling in love with someone, it just happens. But they made the conscious decision to cheat with each other, someone that can be controlled

but the thought of her partner loving someone else and her not caring just means she doesnt love him either so why would she care that they slept together

I don’t think it’s that she doesn’t care, I think it’s that she cares enough to want to see him be happy. She probably knows that you can’t control your heart, so she just wanted to wish them well together as she cares about both of them. However, them betraying her is a different story. Because they made the choice to cheat together and go behind her back like that. They intentionally heart her and their actions were something they could control. So in the end, I think that she loved him enough to want him to be happy with his new love, but not enough to let herself be disrespected and wronged by their cheating.
