I think they weren't fading cause the cat keeps scratching him. Basically he's seek comfort from his cat like Dohui saught comfort from his dog, but the cat doesn't like being picked up and attacks.... typing this and now knowing the Shim YH (don't know which spelling is better) is a crybaby could be why the cat scratches him because cats usually don't like water.
why weren't his bruises fading even a bit, I wanted to see his healed face smh
