minghwa isnt trying to make it like “nothing happened” though, her making jaekyung guilty and bringing back kim dans past sa’er is reminding everyone that kim dan has been a victim all along, had this been realistic kim dan wouldnt be getting romantically involved with jaekyung and the doctor probably would still be working at the hospital, kim dan wouldve been cast aside like a used shoe because hes poor and a victim, powerful figures like jjk and the doctor would actually be able to hide everything with money and name, but its fiction and kim dan is the main character so those outcomes didnt happen

but if we just think with a plastic brain, kim dan always had a seed of interest for jaekyung growing ever since they first met up until they had their fight, even though he no longer feels that burning crush in his heart, jaekyung will always be allowed one extra chance, either from the sense of responsibility to repay jaekyung or from having liked him before idk, i just know kim dan has more or less accepted jaekyungs sa because he loved jaekyung

the story makes full use of the fictional rules in the bl world so imo its not a good read for people like you who prefer more realistic stories with better representation, this story rlly needs readers who read it for the love of the game cuz its just so unrealistic

She's doing that by giving us Dan saying in the previous chapter that he was okay with everything that has happen to him, she's shallowing the topic of SA with a disgusting 'there was a contract, Dan agreed to that so no SA', well, nope! People are going around stating shits about that contract at the same level as 'you cannot rape the prostitute'! Dude, that whole contract was wrong to begin with, and because of JK he fell into depression, alcoholism and wanted to kill himself! Seriously?! Theres a lot of people who still finish a movie even though halfway in they can already tell its a horrible film. The reason why we’re flooded with crap is because the companies that agree to let authors post their bad ideas see the popular point that keeps readers coming back: WELL DRAWN SEX. a majority of the readers are adult women who like to see two men go at it so ofc the market will produce works that contain good gay smut, we’re lucky the market is so big that it has the funds and resources to produce no sex pure romance and sweet love BL’s though

for the “fiction or not” part, the people who actually get swayed by fiction so much that their moral compass goes askew are mostly teens and younger readers girl, theyre not even supposed to be reading such content in the first place but its just a matter of time before they grow up and come back to reread these old series and then understand why its so problematic, same as how most grew up watching inappropriate animes and loved them as children but grew up to find out its the most disgusting show ever

And yes, I agree on that, Jinx is just a really bad written story with no well throughout characters, like many other BL series, everything here is just a typical toxic BL trop! And of course many people can see that, but there are also those who blame Dan, just to 'clean' JK's name... and it's like that with many black/red flags 'hot characters', where readers wants to justify their actions and make them a 'good guy', because they are so 'hot'.
Btw, Mingwa seriously could come up with anything at the last moment at least, to make it from Dan's end just an act, as he wants to survive till that final match and then disappear from JK, and then we'll get some 'chasing' from JK, because we all know he's the end game... hard to say, this is just so badly written that mostly impossible to do anything sensible with it at this point...
Don't get me wrong, I like toxic stories, but well written, with a good redemption part, chasing etc, and I can even like black/red flag character because of a good character development and so on, but it's not erasing whole shit he did.

The problem with this industry is not only sex focused authors, but as you mentioned - platforms, they also have strict guidelines when it comes to the content of series, I remember reading such platforms authors' interviews and comments, they need to stick to many rules regarding the content, well... sex sells, and as long as people buy such content, platforms will use that as an easy money, that's how it works. And in such webtoons, where everything is based on an easy 'scroll through', visuality is the most important for many recipients, so good art and sex, and this is how it goes unfortunately. And here SA, cheating, whoring around etc give both factors at ones, angst and sex scene, easy doing for authors, where majority of readers don't care if this is consistent or not, as they're not for storytelling. And I've noticed that mostly Asian series/platforms have this trend for angst and SA (even pushed late in a game without any context), international ones have it more balanced to be honest, but it's true that Asia has the 'thing' towards toxicity in general (I never forget Junko Furuta case and the fact that in Asia it was used as a porn topic - disgusting)

And yes, thankfully there are also good stories, focused on storytelling, good characters profile and also good consent smut, a whole package!
As a BL reader for over 20 years, I see the trend very clearly, and I hope that all these comments cheering such toxic behaviors and series are just minors and not grown up people with fucked up minds (I saw even many for sick series like No reason or Non zero sum - I have no words), it's sad that at the end of the day, those badly written toxic series are the most popular only because of art and hot characters... because there are those good, well written series, not as many as those toxic ones, and unfortunately mostly underrated...
