All these indications and scarring that you've been seeing doesnt change the fact that he looks like a black man. U can ignore it all u want but even in stories where monsters are are "black" its more like the actual shade of black (coal, trash bag color, closer to vanta). In this specific story they not basically made him the shade of actual black people and added no clear details to further indicate his montrous appearance other than his skin color and hair change. What makes it even worse is that the "beautiful" version of him is just a blonde haired blue eyed white man.
