Hmm yeah. But more like he'll do anything to protect his people (including the brown). He dont look like it but he does really care for his people. It doesnt matter who he transact with as long as he and his people benefits. It just, coincidentally, tia and perez are helping the brown family who he respect so much that their goals aligned on that specific arc.

Not to mention, perez will never like sershou he almost killed tia. Perez will never forgive anyone who hurts tia
