The reason why the prince is obsessed with shuri is exactly what you stated. She reminds him of his mother and even though he doesn’t want to acknowledge it, he’s attraction to her is bordering on incestuous. Cardinal richeliu’s obsession towards shuri, on the other hand, is because he is attracted to her but because of his weird religious (highly misogynistic) ideals, he thinks shuri is some devil incarnate that’s trying to seduce him. And because of his misogynistic beliefs, he cannot stand a woman like shuri having authority over an influential household.

hello to novel readers!! I'm currently on chap 160+ and I'm currently debating if I should drop this manhwa or continue if it gets better??
I've started this manhwa when it was only like 30 chapters in, and because of the inconsistent updates + some translations being very confusing at times, there are gaps in my memory and I wonder if I should still go on to read this story. I'm very invested in Shuri's story but the way this manhwa is written is very deep (for me) and I think it's hard for me to grasp the intricacies maybe because I'm not a novel reader. I.e., I don't know why the Prince is so obsessed with Shuri other than she looks like his mother & cuz she's kind (and he grew up without motherly affection). I'm also confused why Cardinal Richeliu is so obsessed with Shuri and bringing her family down other than the fact he knows(?) that she came from the past and it's got something to do with his faith or something.
I have a LOT more questions that I have in mind but that's all. Thanks for any suggestions and any spoilers are appreciated!!!
