I went back to reread contrast. And here is what I got for those who got confused like me:
If you did read contrast, then you will know that Arata is the tutor of Akira (MC from contrast) that hang out with Akira to heal each other before Akira get together with Kanata (Also an MC from contrast).
During Arata's highschool moment, he was in a group of 4 friends, which includes Kan-chan (the blonde girl), Nichika (the short-dark hair girl), Hikaru (older brother of Akira) and Arata. At that point, Arata had a crush on Hikaru, but Hikaru end up dating Nichika and, I assume that Kan-chan had a crush on Nichika, that's why the both of them cried together because they somehow understand each other. Oh shit this is so sad
