I've read all 4 volumes so I can explain but this will be spoilers....
Dante is the son of the Don of the Tuscanini family. His father was the son of the previous Tuscanini Don who tried to leave the family and become a normal citizen. Dante's mother was the sister of the current Don (the bear dude) of the Giardino family. So he's related to both mafia families.
Further explanation and even more spoilers.....
Tuscanini killed Dante's mother to start a war between the two families and get Dante's father to come back to the mafia. Dante's father thinks that Dante's uncle (the Don and his wife's brother) is the one who killed his wife instead of his own family and so he has a grudge against the Gardino family because they killed her. So he sent Dante when he was 10 to to play the long game and take them down.

I was reading this at like 2am as per my usual schedule. I wasn’t really taking in much from the story, and I felt extremely stupid at the end cuz I was pretty confused tbh.
Correct me if I’m mistaken, but ML works for the group that killed OG Don’s family? Not sure why, even after ML’s perspective in the last chapter. He definitely does have real feelings for MC tho. Considering this is only vol 1/3(4?), there’s prob a lot more angst…
Anyway I did manage to find raws of vols 2&3 online, so they do exist. hopefully it’s only a matter of time before it gets translated.
