its been a while since i read this but i remember it was mentioned that the illishine can only bear a child / womb whatever once so maybe thats why once he gave birth the mark is gone ?

I agree. It did jump fast for the time and it did not explain what happend to wookyrun cousin who is still at large and to the mark that was suddenly gone.
