Honestly, I feel like he doesn't like her as much anymore. If we're talking about ln I haven't read it just this but from what I've seen maybe he isn't as interested anymore and is just going along with the flow ykwim
I'm kind of getting the vibe (and direct interpretation) that they DID date, but then broke up for some reason, so I'm praying it was something huge like... Her not being able to stand his clean freak nature

Based off of spoilers MC likes Akari, but I REALLY REALLY SHIP The queen and Him, since Y'Know, they're the two Main characters... So either Akari does something and MC loses his love for her, or it's a harem(less likely due to realistic setting) or my OTP doesn't come true...
