It's so obvious that the prince is the "twist" male lead. And honestly I love a good enemies to lovers but this story just doesn't execute it well.

And take it from koueis perspective. In this life he had the beginnings of a relationship with her but she only day just asks him to run away with her, no explanation, and the moment he says no she runs off to get engaged with another man.
No explanation?? No nothing?? She could have spoken to him, rehashed it, but she just does things without thinking of how it will affect him.
Literally if we had a male lead who left out female lead for her own good no explanation we would HATE him but y'all let it pass cause she's a girl.
And then the poor boy has to see her act all lovey dovey with someone else while she tries to reassure him???
Like. I like complicated emotions. There's this story I love where the the mc travels to the past to stop the tyrant who got all her friends killed. Obviously it's a betrayal to fall for him but the story is able to convey that feeling in a rich meaningful way.
