Is "Love" meant to be the theme?

I think it's safe to assume Okaya had feelings for Kiritaka-kun.

I mean—let's be real, it was pretty obvious as this series went on.

The more I think about this manga, the more I believe love is supposed to be the main theme.

Specifically, the kind of love you feel for another person.

This might be a stretch, but—do you guys remember when the first victim talked about his own self-pleasure but then thought about his friends at the last moment?

Again, I may be reaching, but all the bullies seemed to prioritize their own self-interest.

And I believe the first victim of Maria's wrath was the only one who realized he loved and took pleasure in the company of others besides himself.

The love you feel for someone varies from person to person—that's my main point, I believe.

Sometimes, people don't take that love seriously, or the love is so strong that you let your guard down, and when it's too late—you'll do anything to revive that feeling or to get revenge.

(Please don't take my rambling seriously; honestly, there will be inconsistencies in what I say, and that's on me. I just really wanted to share my thoughts. Feel free to give me your own personal takes.)
