Can u tell me what happened in the novel?
Sure thing. HUGE SPOILER WARNING. I am basically re-telling the rest of the novel.
Basically Jin continues solving the murder case, 2nd victim without tongue is found (here it's good to mention that there are 3 men who contributed to the abduction and prostitution of young children those years back, 2 dead and 1 alive - the priest guy).
Jin checks CCTV and sees MC on it how he visits the church (same as what has been shown in the manhwa so far how Jin kind of makes a connection between MC and the murders but doesn't want to suspect him).
He also continues searching for his childhood friends (MC and his twin who separated after they run away from orphanage - I don't remember if it has already been explained in the manga but I think they were to be adopted individually which is why they ran away).
Now the truth about one of the two murdered men is revealed to the readers (not to the characters in the story) and that is that MC was prepared to kill, had plan, was following the guy, etc. however, when he was about to kill him he was already dying (killed by someone else) so the MC only takes his tongue. And he is distressed because he wanted for the guy to die painfully and wanted explanations why they were being subjected to those horrible acts in childhood, but someone killed him first.
MC and Jin have this detachment period, bcs MCs mysophobia worsens and he shuts himself down, even closes the hospital. He has nightmares about the past. And asks Jin to not contact him for the time being. During this confrontation they have Jin sees that MC has at home that drug to euthanase animals which was used in that murder case (again, takes notice, seed of doubt grows).
Anyway they phonecall a lot, Jin is solving the cases... And then MC tells Jin he has something to confess. They meet, he says he likes him. And because he is in bad shape from all those emotional traumas Jin forces him to go live with him and Nari.
Jin then connects the two death to that prostitution case from the past which directs him to access the files about it and finds out his friend is alive. He then goes to MCs adoptive father to ask about details and finds out MC is in fact one of the two twins.
He goes home and MC is not there. He goes to his house and finds the tongues! He tracks MCs phone and finds him attempting to kill the church guy.
Then there is a flashback how MC left for the church and offered the church guy to go have a meal together, the guy tells him his life story during the ride, how he was evil, yadayada. Then MC drugs him and brings him to the top of the building. There they have some talk. the church guy is spewing some religious bs. MC is pretty much out of it, like having a mental breakdown and saying how he misses his brother. Jin comes tries to tell him how they can live together, how he cares about him...
And then MC throws the guy down the building and jumps too. Jin catches MC. The police arrives and Jin tells him to pretend he has nothing to do with the case. He also takes the anesthetics to his own pocket. When the police questions MC they say that they didn't found anything in his house either (it has to mean that Jin hid it).
The church guy actually survived the fall and then he confessed he killed the other dude bcs he didn't want to take part in another prostitution ring (the other guy basically wanted to venture into that business again and was forcing this guy to join him).
The story ends with MC and Jin dating.

Yes, I actually think the manhwa format fits the story better because the story has crazy amount of flashbacks that break the present timeline, same with MCs dreams and past memories. This would be amazing to see in a visual medium. But who knows if we ever get continuation, considering it's been 1.5 years.

As of right now, we know that he wants revenge for the death of his brother and he’s been assaulted in the past. So he’s definitely the culprit of the killings with the tongue cut out.
What I really hope is that this doesn’t take a realistic route for the ending since it’s already so heavily based on these dark topics. When the prosecutor boyfriend finds out it’s him.. and realizes he’s also the boy from the past I really hope he decides to run away together or never reveal it.
If it ends up being a moral battle within him to throw the MC behind bars or whatever I will genuinely go insane
