Pretty sure that was just showing how momo and his mom were coping by convincing themselves it was malicious instead of a desperate cry for help, the past was being told from momos perspective and he immediately contradicts it after when he cries and admits he didnt want to be raped. Then a chapter or sum later he says that doing that with those men and everything he did was because he wanted his mom to really look at him. It only looks like their pushing the narrative him stealing those men bc thats how MOMO chose to see it bc he didn't wanna think about how in reality he was raped by a bunch of adults because he'd end up breaking down like he did. If you wanna understand it better reread a the pages once or twice, it helped me.

If you decide to reread it im sure you'll see thats not really my personal take, its deadass just what happened. The authors intent wasnt to make it look like momo actually seduced them rather than it being that he was being taken advantage of. I think rereading just chapter 5 and 8 would prove my point. Im not saying that youre entirely wrong because they were pushing it just not for the reason you think. Since this story is told from the characters perspective rather than in the 3rd person not everyone is gonna be a completely reliable narrator. That narrative was only pushed when we saw it through momos POV or when we saw people from momos past who allowed it to happen. The whole thing falls apart when yata comforts him and shows understanding and empathy rather than dismissing it like everyone previously did. Because he was only ever dismissed before he kept that "it was me/it was my fault" mindset because he didnt have anyone to vent those emotions to if he did come to terms with them, it really was just him trying to cope.
