Anyone know what he meant by 'you're my last'? Lord? Crush?

I think maybe lord? There's a lot of context that isn't explained well in this story. They only sprinkle bits and pieces here and there. But the MC is not the first lord of the angel tribe (he was around the 6th or so). Whenever the lord dies the progress resets but the "npcs" seem to remember everything. And when I say that the lords die I mean their last death. Because every lord has multiple lives (idr if it was 4 or what). I think what this knight is trying to tell mc is that he won't serve any other lord after him.

In the book he is the 42nd King, and they are giving up if he fails

In the book he is the 42nd king, and they are giving up if he fails because they are done with this endless cycle.

Ohh that makes sense. Didn't know about the giving up part. Thanks for the context
