I genuinely genuinely GENUINELY loved the story so much. I've been putting it off for years now only because I was afraid of opening Pandora's box but oh my god am I glad I did. I finished the manwha within a day and even got extremely emotional at the end- it's that well written. I love how the slow-burn insanity is developed, it feels natural and cruel and the apples!!! The sin of temptation!!! It's misinterpreted as a BL, but the aspect of the gay romance being outcast is well thought out and it provides this sense of "we're doing everything wrong" THE PLOT POINT OF SANWOO'S MOTHER GENUINELY HAD MY STOMACH DOING BACKFLIPS. It starts out in such a way that you WANT to hate Sanwoo, that's the point you're supposed to be afraid of him, but they're genuinely just both children who've never fully gotten support at all, leaving them trying to tend to each other in a way. OH AND THE OPEN ENDING HXKJJKAIDJ GOD BLESS, THE OPEN TO INTERPRETATION ENDING LITERALLY HAD ME GETTING UP FROM MY BED AND MEDITATING. The reoccurrence of the clown from Bum's dream sequence to the amusement park date was interesting as hell, because I think of it as a form of innocence being twisted and manipulated, childhood pleasures being manhandled into corruption while nearing adulthood. Another aspect which had me on my toes was the constant repeating theme of Bum being some sort of object or a piece of meat or even Sanwoo's mother. I think that really showcases the tonal shift that goes on, from being controlled to the one in control, because while this is just my thoughts on it, Sanwoo in a way becomes overly dependent on Bum, which allows Bum to have the upper hand in their cohabitation. They're both just broken children who want stability, one wants escape the other wants love, it's a clash between the two and its so well written my little heart jumped in joy with all the imagery!!!
