kinda rushed the conflict. but i guess in their logic, beast humans don't exactly have proper human rights law or you could say beast rights law. i mean, when the doctor saw the bruising on kohaku's neck, he only pointed out that he had worn a collar and it caused bruising but he didn't point out that he could've been abused or imprisoned. which also comes to chapter 5 where they confront kohaku's uncle. he didn't get mad at the part where the doctor saw kohaku in a cage and is wearing a collar and a leash or when he got drugged by his own uncle. like the doctor didn't yap about kohaku's rights as a being. and the uncle, despite saying it's for kohaku's own good due to his unique physiology, didn't even thought about situation he put his nephew in would look like abuse.
so i guess, beast humans don't exactly have proper rights and being treated as their "beast species" is common. which is why what happened during the confrontation in chapter 5 was pretty much it.
shit good until chapter 5
