The original FL might have faked her death? It seems like she knew what events would transpire so she chose to disappear instead? (this is my hypothesis).
The emperor mentioned that original FL (before they turned back time) used a love potion on 3 of the MLs because of revenge? And that caused war and the deaths of our loved characters.
It seems that also in the original TL, the mage was obsessed with liliana which I have a feeling may be related to her gift and that its somehow related to the condition the mage seems to be suffering from (insanity maybe, and again this is my hypothesis)
