People assume it is since he was looking forward to it and they believe it’s supposed to be the arc that allows him to tap into his dream of being a great warrior of the sea. Can’t say I see in which way this was meant for him.
Call me delusional but I think it was lowkey implied during pre-timeskip. Like how he said a giants way of living is his dream accomplished (and it would make sense if he accomplished or at least attempted to accomplish his dream at elbah) or how he personally interacted with those two giants in enies lobby. And I assumed how him lying about carrying a heavy hammer when he fought perona would mean that he would get to actually carry one (since his lies always come true) and what better opportunity to do that than in elbah, where every weapon would be excessive large and heavy for him to carry?? Maybe I was just delusional and hoping for my fav character to once again lock in , it’s been too long
He loves giants someone assumed he’ll get his shxt together through Elbaph. Hes a great sniper but he barely uses that as a tool so I’ve basically been unimpressed with anything he does since he showed up as Sogekingin Enies Lobby. The last time he did something impressive was Dressrossa and even then… let’s just say as the future irate king’s sniper, he’s been more of a scaredy cat than anything else. We’re probably only halfway through the arc though, so anything could happen.
