I was just thinking about that. I can feel the plot of this story will all just be missing memories, similar to amnesia trope
I also think the old man disappeared on purpose, he's a mage. He might have felt it in his old bones of experience. He might be yhe only one to remember her as well in the end till his dying old age.

Well isn't this chapter just one ingredient for a "delete me to everyone's memory" in the end because she's never a part of this timeline yet and due to some changes, it's possible she will be gone forever?
