I assume those little creatures are asleep. Kendrick had an injured arm, so he must have been lying down while writing with his good hand. He was there for a week (what I wonder is, didn't he suffer from hunger? Although it seems Little A brought him meat before attacking him, but it was still raw, lol. I don't know). And also, if we consider the timeline, Kendrick's dialogues are written on small pieces of paper throughout the chapter, some crossed out or burned. Kendrick isn't the one narrating the story; the one reading the logs is the nun who found the book. So... what happened to Kendrick?
