It's the same throughout the manga. Asami's words has always been so harsh towards Akihito (and everyone basically) but his actions betray his own words. it's just his nature and one of his bad points imo. Hence why it causes a lot of misunderstanding between them. He says things like you have no such worth (as a lover) in the early naked truth chapters but then he risks life and limb to save Akihito. There's always a gentleness in his actions towards Akihito that he shows no other.
You are just trying hard to see what you want to see yet again.
I don't know, having read the translation I feel the whole thing didn't seem as harsh to me as people make it seem to be. He just cares a lot about both their safety and ask him to keep low profile for him. Of course Akihito gets shocked by the no contact agreement but it seriously doesn't please Asami either and Fei Long takes great pleasure in pointing that out.
Honestly, it's the sort of thing that can happen in any couple depending on your lifestyle. When me or my boyfriend need time to work on our portfolio to apply to other companies we ask the other to be understanding and for a while we do our own things without spending as much time together. ''You're distracting me'' might seem harsh to hear but it's a real thing and we have to work around it sometimes. I just moved city for a job after I lost mine and while none of us like it it means quite a few couple months that we are separated (on top of him having to work on his stuff, so even weekends won't work for a while).
It always give us quite a bit of a heartache but it's for better things to come. And really, you can't ask your partner to stagnate with you, you're both still individuals that make choices in order to advance in life. Asami here is legit trying to not get both of them killed, he has the right to ask him to not come along because he would be way too worried for him, thus distracted and wouldn't be able to do what he has to do properly.
Life happens, yes your partner can become a ''burden'' in certain circumstances, and here obviously the stakes are much higher than whatever is going on in my love life lol. I really don't see where Asami is that much in the wrong there. I'm no crime lord but I would do the same thing, especially since it doesn't seem like it's going to take years and it's more of a short-term thing (like up to half a year).
Asami: I can only take care of myself, save your ass yourself!

Like everyone has their own expectations of a relationship, but I find his demand quite reasonable considering the seriousness of the situation. And I find that if you always try to never ever trigger your partner's insecurities no matter what that they can't grow up. This might just drive Akihito to grow up into a person that can prove to him that he can get involved in his business.
After seeing how far I've come, I would never ever want to have a partner that doesn't challenge my little safe bubble from time to time (not just for the heck of it, but when it's actually needed, obviously). Same with my job, losing it has objectively been one of the best things that happened to me, after having a major meltdown from it just drove me to bounce back even more and I'm no longer stuck worrying about jobs. I know that even if I get fired I'll find something else again and no longer depend on my job to be prideful. I also no longer literally depend on my boyfriend for my happiness. At a time I felt I lost everything I ended up getting so much more. I'm much more well-rounded and able to be independent without getting into a crying mess.
All in all, this all led me to believe in my own worth regardless of those things.
And I think it's good if the same kind of thing happens to Akihito. He seems to define his worth with Asami as his whole worth in life, which is an insecurity that yes is partly triggered by Asami's behavior but at the end of the day it's Akihito's problem. You can't just blame your emotional insecurity on your partner. You can't expect him to get hellbent on changing his whole behavior in order for you to feel perfectly secure and never trigger any of your own insecurities when it's you that have issues with how you view your own self-worth.
Depending on your partner to make you feel secure can only go so far.

Being upset when your partner reinforces your self-esteem issues is different than depending on your partner to make you feel secure. A partner should be a partner who meets you halfway. I do think this arc is shaping up to have Aki assert his worth. It remains to be seen how Asami responds to that.
