Mc gives the duke too much credit

I've been saying this for a long time, that duke is such a doormat or whatever it's called. He pisses me off so much, like instead of trying something or at least telling the MC the situation he's just the hoping for things to get better and letting things get worse and worse until the MC steps in. That's so frustrating
