Am I the only one confused?

Anyone else understand the symbolism of how each power is referencing one of those 6 fairytales?

How is Momo's telekenetic hand a reference to the AIW story? Or umbrella boys power is hansel and gretel? Etc...
My only guess so far is the western fairytales have a japanese equivalent (not common knowledge or im just slow) and theyre mixing the references?

UPDATED!:

THANKS @Sweetpotato!
So our gang was targed because 'curse conditions were met so now I'm allowed to steal your superpower' like it could be more about the experiences of the supernaturally powered character which could translate to a 'curse' of (insert fairytale trial here).

Momo had her inate superpower before she was thrust into alien wonderlands where she was shrunk for eating cursed food. So her journey aligned with AIW and therefore she could be targeted for 'powers captured' with the little knives.

Zuma and little bro were basically abandoned then thrust into a dangerous world of sweets.

Class rep was a quiet girl who needed to 'find her voice'.

Loner girl was a female with loyal industrious small people who helped her.

I guess Red baron fits the conditions cuz big bad Vlad is about to eat him up?

So next arc should be going after someone who lies but its obvious? Maybe like superficial 'Miss Popular' Aira's power of the aerial entertainer. Or isolated Mr "Ten Gallon Weiner"'s power of imagination? Or somehow 'pretending not to be in love with Momo' Jiji's Power of friendship?

Thank you for your perspective @sweetpotato I think DDD lore fits better in my head now. :D
