MC was teasing the ML and the ML still agreed to date him even though he thought he was cheating, I see it as cute little payback (for the stalking, secret pictures and stuff lol) that will probably turn into an inside joke for them later that the MC will tease the ML about . Might even say something like “You were the one stalking me how didn’t you know we broke up?”
My point is the ML didn’t seem upset or depressed at the fact that MC was in a relationship (even though the MC wasn’t actually in a relationship). It would be different if the ML was visibly upset and the MC still didn’t clear it up imo.
