Compared to Jo and Ian parting ways with emotional honesty and mutual understanding, choosing to let go for the sake of individual growth, TJ’s scene inside the police car feels deeply ironic. He was thanked by a police officer because his daughter was safe, and then he laughed. That laugh almost feels like he was laughing at himself and at the absurdity of the situation. He had just said he wanted to quit the gang, yet instead of fully facing accountability, he was still clinging to and stuck within the very system built on power and money to avoid the consequences of his actions.

Call me foolish, but I still don’t believe TJ will walk away this time. Who is Harry in the chain of command to alter the setup and shield him? This isn’t some ordinary murder. The uproar — and the weight of it — is far too great to be handled quietly by a single detective.

I can’t shake the feeling that part of the deal with BT demands a public reckoning — someone must be arrested, someone must answer. TJ’s growth means nothing if it comes without consequences. Without that, his story would end hollow and incomplete.

I think he might get away with it. And if he avoids the consequences again, that would mean someone else has to take the fall for him. Who knows they might even drag Ian into it once more.
If that happens, I can see it becoming a turning point. Maybe that’s when he finally turns himself in and fully faces the consequences of his actions.

Yeah, I completely agree, I think he might get away first but if someone actually drag Ian again into this then hopefully this time Tj finally see and realize the “effect” of his actions to Ian. So maybe that’s why I also think he might turn himself in , take accountability and apologize to Ian?

I prefer not to imagine it. I’m a fan of TJ and Ian, but not the kind who blindly defends everything they do or hates on Jo because of it. I like all three characters and the way they’re portrayed. As a fan, I just want to see their development handled properly and their growth brought to a satisfying conclusion.

What do you like abou TJ?...im really curious..i know he a complex character and people like that about him..i find it really hard to empathize with him Especially when im so heartbroken with what Ian been through...and do you think he lack of self inner thoughts? because i thought doyak intent to do that with both Ian and TJ..for Ian i kinda understand what his actions coming from but TJ..is pretty hard...like i want to understand so i can sympathize with him?

You ask for my personal opinion, and I don’t like how, in this fandom, people accuse each other of lacking understanding or reading comprehension. So let’s agree not to accuse one another and instead either accept different opinions or have a respectful discussion.
At the beginning, I thought it was going to be another noir story where the kind, good-looking guy helps the main character overcome his past, so I was rooting for JoIan. I didn’t like TJ—neither his appearance nor his personality. I found him arrogant and selfish.
When did I start liking him? Probably just small things that made him seem more complex in my eyes.
I appreciate that he didn’t directly interfere in JoIan’s relationship—not before the bathroom scene. When his subordinates made a move on Jo, that was their decision, and he punished them—not simply to put on a show for Ian. He had two opportunities to intervene (once when he drove past the motel and saw them talking on the street and another time right after the breakup when he returned), but he chose to step back both times. I interpreted that as him giving Ian space and the chance to move on.
Later, after the funeral, I truly felt that he was ready to let him go, even if it hurt him. Before the BT incident, there wasn’t a sign that he was trying to go back to Ian or pull him back into his life. That’s what made it so heartbreaking and meaningful to me. It didn’t feel selfish—it felt like the painful choice of someone who truly loves another person and believes letting go might be the best thing for them.
Then the past was shown, and after seeing the flashback scenes and how he was the only one who stayed by YW’s side, my perspective shifted.
The scene where he locked him in the apartment so YW wouldn’t go out and destroy himself with drugs. The way he went to DK’s apartment and brought him back after his complete breakdown. How they were holding hands in the car. The moment he cried in front of Ian, dropping all his pride. All of that made him feel less selfish to me and far more human—flawed, but still caring in his own way.
He dived into the gang life because he wanted money and power, enough to finally stand up to DK and protect Ian from his influence. Without that power, he feels like nothing—just a dog that barks but never bites. But greed is part of human nature, isn’t it? And for someone who once felt completely powerless, the lure of power is almost impossible to resist once he finally gets a taste of it.
The fact that he was ready to confess his guilt in hospital, showed me he was ready to take responsibility, but Ian stopping him imo was mistake because it gave him sense that Ian could forgive him even that.
I really love the way Doyak changes his hairstyle—it feels like he’s finally too tired to keep up the façade of the perfect, untouchable big boss. The way he’s shown standing alone, shoulders heavy, makes me empathize with him. The moment he looks at Ian’s photo, looking so lonely and broken, feels especially powerful. It shows how much he loves and misses Ian. And the fact that he went to BT without hesitation—fully aware that a sacrifice might be necessary—even after the bathroom breakup, even after learning how Ian truly feels.
I also love how he slowly begins to soften. He doesn’t order Jamie’s brother to be killed. He refuses to kill the bride. You can see the shift in him.
And through it all, he remains calm and composed, even in the most tense and critical moments. I’ve always been drawn to people like that—those who can control their emotions and stay rational when everything around them is falling apart.

Jo is a genuinely good guy who cares about Ian, and I really wanted to root for him. But Doyak’s story didn’t give me enough moments—enough action or depth—to really see the layers of his character. Contrast that with TJ, whose journey is so fully realized, showing the most growth of all. I don't say these justify his actions, but makes him more relatable.
His growth is undeniable, yet unfinished. He must face the weight of his past before I can truly believe in the depth of his love for Ian—and trust that he’s ready to begin again.
P.S I don’t think twenty years of history—traumatic or not—can be overcome after just a few months of normality.
    About your question:
TJ definitely has his inner thoughts, which were even shown during the early sex scene. He realized his sins but wasn’t mature enough to confess, because doing so would mean facing his greatest fear of losing Ian. Realizing he was losing him anyway, combined with Jo’s presence—which was necessary to drive the story forward—pushed him to act. In Chapter 94, when he acknowledged that he had lied to YW about everything, it showed me that he was finally ready to strip himself completely and face rejection—and, in doing so, achieve closure.
TJ is not better than Jo, but in end the most important thing is who Ian wants to be with, so I was ready to accept both Joian or TJIan

I prefer discussions like this rather than the constant, exhausting arguments on X or in the comment sections. This is a story with a love triangle, so of course there will be clashes between fans.

I’d really like to read your and Sunchaser’s thoughts on the following:
I’m curious if Doyak will show us Toby’s closure. Will losing the baby and possibly moving to another city be the end of his storyline?
What do you think will happen with Chris?
There has been a lot of build-up around Jo’s pistol—what do you think will come of that?
Will Jamie still be a threat? In one of the panels of chapter 95, I saw Chiwoon (or one of his subordinates) knock him down. I assume he might be taken somewhere and dealt with?
Also, when Ian rejected Jo, he said that after that day there wouldn’t be any more opportunities. What do you think he meant by that? Did he mean because Jo is leaving, or because the situation is dangerous and Jamie’s people might act at any moment?

this is what i speculate about how to story will moving forwards... if TJ get his redemptions arc and pay for his consequences after this..i will considerate him as a potential to be andgame...eventhought i root for Joian endgame i will not denial his chance but it have to push Ian to get his character develop which is..overcome his darkness...because i believe this is the narrative of this story Ian have to go from point A to B to complate it...considerate we are in the final part its is going to be a rush ending for sure i might not be satisfied ending for me... i dont believe just love is enought for these two even withot gang promble..the traumas will trigger them bad..TJ will never be the safe place that Ian want and Ian will never be someone enought for TJ..their traumas is feeding eachother that why they never disappear from eachother life...they been together for 20 years and it will not take them to anywhere...without complely healing

for JoIan i think they have more path move chance...Ian choosing himself..go somewhere...have time to take care of himself..have a place that he can feel safe..without all the chaos...(this is only can happen if the gang problem is solved) when he is ready yarning arc will happen they yarn for eachother and they find eachother

another path..is Ian have to deal with his past...i think he already has plan...and if TJ have to go to jail...maybe he will help chiwoon get a leader positions in k35 under BT conditions or whatever so he can really cut ties with them...and In the meantime here i think it a perfect point for jo and Ian to get their character develop

for Jo.. he the guy who always know what he want...but always back down because he always put other's desire before himself...and because deep down he feeling insecure about this relationship so he cant put Ian too much he always respect other boundaries, giving them space..giving them choices but this time he need to be brave and show Ian that his love is safe enough, show Ian that he can love Ian just like the same way Ian love other...Ian take a bullet, Ian forgive..Ian willing to die for someone he love or care...he is that selfless so Jo have to show Ian that there be no punishment when things go wrong and if their willing to fight through it together...he will never let go of Ian hand ...Its the safety that Ian want not just life's protection etc...so he his the take step up in Ian world, in his darkness..

just aking or begging i dont think Ian gonna let Jo go down with him..absolutely no...jo have to choose to do it himself and help Ian..(like that time when he find Ian at the campsite) with his bullet..hope he dont have to kill anybody and if he does..Jo going to say that "it's okay it not your fault" to Ian a million time untill he dont have a choice other than to believe it... that is what Ian need to learn..learn that there are people willing to forgive him for his mistake...no conditions, no demands...because he deserve it, the love he willing to give is so so big..he deserve someone who will love him just the same and also teach him to love himself and forgive himself too this the reason why i believe Jo is better choice than TJ

Will Jamie still be a threat? i think if TJ get his consequences..he going to calm down a little...maybe there a chance to clear all the the misunderstood or chiwoon just kill him already

Lol...never mind let do it again...

when Ian rejected Jo, he said that after that day there wouldn’t be any more opportunities. What do you think he meant --- i didn't know about this past only see what people share ...so it's makes sense why he refused to look at jo's eyes or let jo touch him...i think he is afraid to give in..how stubborn .. Ian believes he is a threat to jo and never be anything else ..his shameful past no one going to accept it..it's the best way to say goodbye and not meet again.. so right now even him himself don't believe he can heal or be better ..my poor baby...that why i need jo the put through this wall...well we cant blame him much either...Ian not giving him any chance..even his injury arm is a secret...these two are so damn romantic

About toby and chris i hope they dont get more involved..and the still can be Ian's friends when everything ends...especially Toby her lost is hard breaking and it going the break Ian in prices..but she will tell him its not his fault and they're be okay
