I don't think they know, it's been shown multiple times that mc had to resort to drastic measures to "convince" people in the past and nowadays when bribing someone is brought up in conversations like this more than often you'll just think it's either about convincing the guy by breaking his jaw (beating him) or convincing him by using your body so I think that's what they were talking about at least that's how I interpret it
rereading and have a question,, chapter 11, when the guy said you could’ve beat or f him by now” does that imply they already know he’s like that? did they try it before with the other guy? idk if i missed something bc i get lost in the politic stuff
