The Baek Siblings So Ungrateful

Junesonata March 5, 2026 8:54 am

Rereading this again after so many years, I still don't really like the Baek siblings.
They are so infuriating and going way too far out of line most of the time.
Looking back at the flashbacks, Jung'sfather (that asshole) is taking care of them, even Jung still helped them and accepted them for some xtents.
But NOT ONLY That inha bitch is projecting her own trauma and imsecurity to all Jung's ex girlfriends AND harassing them, she made Inho and Jung's friendship even more estranged bc of her shinenigans.

And that Inho is a fkimg hyprocrites. Jung reaction to some ppl in the past is totally justified. And he thought his personality who's always quick to get violent + arrogant + also harassing people is better than Jung who only got violent when ppl wronged him.

They keep crossing the lines and the pity and sympathy i got from them are now gone. Tsk tsk.

Jung's father is also shitty for doing that to his own fuking kid. That is also one of the reason why Jung is behaving more and more like a sociopath.

Most people in this story really painted Jung like he's the demon incarnation just because who chose to do revenge in an unusual way.
While most of the time, Jung only reacted that way because ppl are always pushing the wrong bottons and going way too far.
I'm not saying Jung is totally innocent either.
Sometimes he IS being an asshole.

But he's still far better than those hypocrites.

Ok i was probably too hard on Inho.
But still, if I were on Jung's position, it would hurt me a lot tooo ugh.

I don't know I think they're pretty justified. The man who raised them only ever really saw them as tools (which Inha recognized immediately) and lead to Inho really believing Jung's dad was like a father to him as well (leading to that one rumor that broke everything).
Inho was an immature kid who was (and still throughout the story) talks before he thinks and end up regretting it. I'm still not sure whether Jung intended things to go so far with Inho and his hand, but he definitely set him up (over a misunderstanding: that Inho was telling on him to his father. When, in reality, he was Jung's D1 defender) and even laughed in his face when he found out what happened.
Inha is harder to defend, but I pity her. She was physically and verbally
abused by her aunt regularly which put strain on her and Inho's relationship as well. She had no right to throw herself at Jung and interfere with his relationships, but in a way I understand why she told on him to his father. She knew from the beginning that her and her brother were only being used and sought to benefit from it, but she should've known that would've hurt someone.
The thing that always made me hesitant to like Jung was 1, the incident that ruined Inho's entire future, and 2, the countless times he purposely set Seol up (not including the one time he screwed her over on accident) because she didn't like him. I mean who does that. She never actually did anything to him, they just didn't get along.
But to summarize, every character had their set of flaws and something that made them enjoyable. I think the most conflicting part of this story was the fact that I felt like I had to pick a side every time new information was revealed about Inho and Jung. But I think its just a complicated, genius story. I remember I hated Jung when I was younger, but now that in older I can understand him better. But honestly, I think Seol deserved better than all of the surrounding characters that did her dirty for no reason.

    Justified??? Ohgod pls no.
Yeah jung's father is pretty shitty. But let's be honest, they never treated them that badly amd even when the baek brothers acted like shit and always creating chaos, his father STILL offered to support them financially.
If jung's father really only see them as tools, the moment inha bullying those poor girls, and when inho no longer able to play the ponao, hewould totally cast them off.
But no. Hestill fking financially support them.

And don't get me started with Inha's trauma.
I do emphatize with her as I was also a survivor of VD. But it was never justified for her to bully and harass all those ppl.
Her trauma made us understand her rage and pain, sure, but human is also capable of thinking and feeling before doing something.

What the baek siblings did to Jung is still shitty.
    Only Inho is redeemable.
