I think it also came from the fact that their relationship was really easy from the beggining where haru thought it would end badly and because they never disscussed watanabe's feeling or his orientation it did kinda seem like he just went along with it out of curiosity? But anyways i like how the author expressed haru's anguish it felt pretty realistic lol

liked the communication they were really cute! it’s supposed to be short form, i know, but i really would have loved to see them actually resolve the issue with haruki’s insecurity over watanabe not being “gay enough” and thus indirectly doubting his feelings for him (“you only dated me because i confessed!!”)
definitely felt some internalized homophobia there, which is pretty common and is very hard to address. lowkey giggled a bit when haru was like “she’s going to think you like boys!!” because baby, he does ?? he’s literally dating you! a boy! but i get where haruki was coming from bc again, he did like watanabe for quite some time already while thinking that watanabe was completely straight.
