it MIGHT seem softer but dying by drowning is one of the most painful way to die cuz the water slowly fills up in the lungs. If you have ever accidentally got water inside your nose and it already stings that much, imagine all of that water slowly getting in your body (and all of the ways he kills ppl are always related to the way the victims died or suffered, just saying :D )

You’re right, it’s probably because of his method of abduction being repetitive. Sneaking inside their car and the next is them in his house. I do miss it when he’d go through lengths to stalk his victims, like interacting with them directly
