He's too hurt by his parents death.
ALL the money is going to his parents' hospital bills. He has very little, if any, for himself. With his leg injury, walking isn't an option. Also, being available at any time is a stipulation in their contract. He is not free to just up and go when he wants. (Chapter 3)

Umm i don't understand, is he being confined in the house? Surely not? He has money so just buy your own food and go visit your parents by yourself?? Surely it says here that he's paid a lot amd nobody is stopping him. He can just love his own life , no-one but the ml is physically hurting him i think.
Though i read till ch2 only let's see if I'm missing smth
