i agree with everything you said here!!! just wanted to let you know tho that a “one shot” is simply one chapter, hence the name. also it probably didn’t have much to do with funding, just that there wasn’t much more the author wanted to add on.

Also about the ml being a "manwhore" well this was just a one shot manga with 6 chapters like all the other Mangas I don't think they had the time to show case all the characters and the actual plot of the story. And I don't think they had the funding to proceed with more chapters either. And there was a time skip on between when they started living together I'm assuming that's where the ml developed feelings
