.... girl is a psychopath.... i dont think you should expect feelings in general from her for others.
yeah this webtoon is fun but sometimes i winch at evan's attitude. it's a complicated feeling. if she isn't a pyschopath we wouldnt have so much fun in the early chapters, but if she will always like this we def will start to feel sorry for the people around her that we get attached to. it seems other characters also wont change much in the future. wont this make the story frustrating even if the plot moving forward? it will always have that unserious vibe til the end even if the plot getting serious. i'm going to observe whether readers will still have no complain by then.
this remind me of a shounen manga that started full of gag but later it turned serious and everyone suddenly become cool, it still have occasional nostalgic joke there and there, but we dont see everyone the same anymore. every characters have deep. this make the story more than just a comedy manga, but a masterpiece in my heart. it works very well maybe after readers get attached to the characters we start craving for more serious and cool points of the characters that we can admire.
so i think most story have to evolve at some point, except if it is mean to be just that, what we get at first are what we will get by the end... if we love it at first maybe we will still love it by the end (if we dont get bored or frustatred) but our love probably wont grow. sorry suddenly this become a mini review ...
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment…I don’t think Evan is a psychopath since she’s not intentionally causing harm to others and her surroundings without rhyme or reason…her mom is definitely a psychopath but I do think she severely emotionally stunted and just focusing on survival…though I agree with what you said since I and others begin to connect or really like certain characters we wish in spite of the humor for better treatment as the story progresses or expect personal growth from at the main characters…I hate love triangles so when there are multiple loves involved I always get sensitive about them getting their share of attention. (〜￣△￣)〜
Hmm psychopath doesn't necessarily mean she's wanting to cause intentional harm. Psychopaths are just more narcissistic and don't feel remorse, empathy as "normal" people. They always put themselves first no matter what. I don't believe she is emotionally stunted. I haven't seen a time where she was awkward with herself. Like she always knows who she is and what she wants. I could be wrong tho. It's been awhile since I've last read the beginning chapters but I do believe she is a psychopath. It's a spectrum as all mental issues and she would (hopefully) fall on the side that will not cause world destruction

Evan’s drive to survive and live on her own terms is awesome and I think she’s cool while such an enigma…and she’s got a lot going on so romance isn’t really on her mind at all…but I think about the times romance does come up like her obsession with the prince its interesting but at the same time she didn’t pace anything and really freaked him out then doesn’t think much about him…the wonderful Gert who literally gave up an arm to be near her in a lizard form, and is as everyone else has noticed in the comments someone most people could only dream of having for a partner in his care…I mean it seems she’s so unaffected in wanting to at least do something thoughtful for him…like why is she just now realizing what he’s given up to help strengthen her to keep her safe? She makes me sad when it comes to Gert…and the other beasts and her “son” (love that fox) clearly have the responses/revelations she needs
