I think this is going to be a story ultimately about traumas. Alas the beta-->omega transition being what leads to intimacy is a bad trope, but I'm pretty sure ml is actually interested in mc, but has a severe big T csa trauma, and is repulsed by sex. Especially how he says he hasn't been with anyone since getting together with mc. MC also has a big T trauma, but the both of them dont communicate with each other (God i am tired of miscommunication trope)
