also i might seem more critical of Sarah here than i actually am just bc i do feel like all other things considered things will always be a bit easier for her as someone who doesn't have to hide. but as a woman i will support her if she chooses to lace Asa's shampoo with Nair to release her justified frustration. Multiple people have criticized Asa’s actions and Asa is ultimately the one who chose to get Sarah’s blessing before making a move. But somehow Sarah seems to be the one ultimately getting shit. It’s like geez.
no i mean it's perfectly legitimate to say that Asa should stick to waiting for Sarah's blessing, i just don't like the pretense that Sarah is a perfect victim or that she never did anything whatsoever to contribute to the state of (mis)communication among all three of them. i hate a misogynistic fujo don't get me wrong but realistically speaking a lot of the angst in this storyline stems from the fact that Aurora was so used to having his social life micromanaged and belittled even if that wasn't Sarah's intention. Especially when (unfortunately i don't remember if this was ever explicitly addressed) it seems that Aurora was closeted to Sarah until chapter 20 (backed up by the fact that she doesn't seem aware of the bullying he faced and the nature thereof), which for practically any queer person who's had to spend time in the closet only compounds the problem we're discussing

...and also people dunking on her for it are probably misogynistic but also Sarah's past involvement in managing who Aurora gets to hang out with was non-negligibly overbearing to the point that all this behind-the-back stuff is probably partially on her. this is why i said a few weeks ago that i dislike Sarah but within reason (even that is hyperbolic tbh), not because i think she shouldn't get to express attraction and desire and have a sense of agency in her relationships but because in doing so she shouldn't be foreclosing those things for others.
