Why is this au much better than og? Like akutagawa‘s story??? Yes I like the bsd too but this version feels more more the OG author akutagawa, and also mori is not a p*do, idk why the manga author made mori like that and say he’s based off the Japanese author who was actually unlike many other authors actually normal, and seen as asexual, yes his book that the manga use about ‘desire’ is about a MC who don’t feel sexual and also the author had a daughter who wrote also queer stories that he supported, like I’m sorry, I read dazai’s work too and seen that man’s history and he was a sexist weirdo and don’t get me started on his thing for younger women

That's what I've been saying, you get it! Beast was so much better than the canon story: the interactions, characterization, and dynamics are so much more interesting. I also have the same issue with the canon characterization of the REAL AUTHORS! Like, the author could've based the characters without using the literal names (which I find disrespectful especially if the characters aren't even accurate to literal author, because they show up and effect people's interpretation of the original author.) But to literally treat and rewrite real people like this.. is so WEIRD. It's reminding me of that era of the internet where fanfic writers for One Direction would seem to forget that the members were using real people, giving them headcanons or rewriting them to fit their fantasy when again.. THESE ARE REAL PEOPLE, not your original character, not a fictional character to reshape/remould, but a literal human being. Turning a real person into your fictional fantasy.. is weird, especially if you're changing the type of person they are or the life they have lived. I grieve Mori's canon character, especially since it's proven in Beast by the fandom that he would've been loved more without the weird one-liners! It seemed like Asagiri was either biased or thought he was a genius for "switching" things up.

Yes!!! Also the glaze dazai has, cuz I read the real life author and his work is questionable with having a teacher and his high school girlfriend end there life at the end. It just makes me look at the author weirdly cuz it feels very self centered of his own life. And also his sexism man, I don’t hate him but oof looking at how he’s popular and written and looking at how mori is written is odd
