This is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated works in Mangago. Interesting concept, doesn't overstay its welcome, no rushed ending, and overall brilliantly written.
That said, there are a few caveats. The story for the most part is angsty, and it will take until the side story before it gets wholesome. There is a lot of uncomfortable scenes. While there is no straightforward assault or abuse, there is coercion and it's not the healthiest type of relationship. This story is primarily drama and psychological. It can get heartwrenching, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, as the side story is very healing. The character development is astounding, and you will see there is no villains in this story, only victims.
As for the hair color changes, spoiler:
The main character originally dyed his hair blonde, and that was the reason why the male love interest approached him in the first place, because the person in his dream had blonde hair. After knowing this, the main character dyed his hair back to black, as he refused to become a replacement.
