Yeah 100%. It comes across as really disingenuous and awkward because there's literally no fkn reason for it to occur, either character wise or plot wise.
The author is into is exhibitionism, which I know is usually linked to the whole excitement of getting caught. But they've written it as an extension of PDA in the context of ~I just love you so much I want others to see~ lol. But the author doesn't put the audience as the voyeur watching this, they insert unrelated characters in to watch them.
Like in their other work where I think the sister walks in on the couple having sex (and finds it hot??). Or these two adult, grown teachers going you know what? lets openly fuck and watch our students for literally no reason. And the panels of them side by side, doing and saying the exact same thing - like what?

I typically am into voyeurism in fiction but the way this author writes it makes me cringe so hard. It doesn’t come off as sexy to me, just reminds me of the feeling of waiting in line for a concert behind a straight couple flirting in baby talk and groping each other while bumping into everyone around them. It feels embarrassing and a bit nauseating
