The island arc, taekjoo gets kidnapped and abused for weeks on end. So he tries to find ways off the island with completely failure every time. To get out more/survey the island for any other alternatives, he decides on competitions with Zhenya is the best option. With Zhenya winning every competition, tkj is still being “abused”. The contrabass, food, competitions, Olga and the shared space gets tkj soft but it’s until he leaves that he realizes his feelings.
Idk tbh maybe I’m just slow, but I feel like this island arc is all over the place?
Like I think I understand this is where Zhenya begins falling in love without realizing it, but is that mainly it? Idk I just feel that the scenes, although gorgeous, don’t really make sense in a way of their chemistry bonding.
I heard that is arc in the novel was super good, but like the title of this post, yeah.
If someone can explain whats actually happening for a peanut brain-rotted thing like me?
