Actually I’m not done. “I’m married”/“So what?” makes me soooo mad. That’s the cliche line of a pretty college girl who thinks seducing an older man will make her into a “real adult” and validate her self worth.
Polygyny doesn’t even seem to be normalized in this world; every romantic relationship so far has been monogamous and there’s no evidence to the contrary. So where tf does she get off on just telling a married man to ignore his legal wife and fuck her instead?
It’s not even about the missing wife and if she was a good person or not. It’s that the MC clearly sees his marriage as an obstacle to being in a new relationship, and this girl doesn’t give him any time to process moving on from his marriage before slotting herself in as Wife 2.0. Almost like his feelings don’t matter as long as she can “have” him.
I don’t actually know her age, but just from her behavior I can confidently say she’s not mature enough to be in this relationship.
Anyone dating a single parent immediately has to reconcile that 1) they are not automatically the kid’s parent because they’re the parent’s partner and 2) there is a high likelihood the parent will have a complex relationship with another person. If you want someone who only has you in their heart, do not date a single parent.
And what does this girl do? The moment she gets a nuanced answer from the MC? She immediately takes it as a yes and takes it to its most extreme, using public pressure to force him into the relationship she wants. The irony is by doing this, she confirms that the MC is right: she’s too young and not ready to date a middle-aged man with history and baggage.
