A lot of ppl are saying the ending was underwhelming, but honestly that was the most logical conclusion for all the things that happened, the reveal may not have been shocking because we as the audience realised many things before the mc did, it was honestly a reveal for him, not us. This whole story is about the inner conflict of mc between this front he puts up in front of others and his selfish desires, this was the only logical conclusion to that conflict.
