Yeah but at the same time, when she did that to eclis, she thought this was a game she had to pass in order to escape the narrative. If I was dropped into a game and I knew I had to romance xx character and murder yy character and manipulate zz character, I’d do it. No questions asked because that’s how I beat the game to begin with. It’s muscle memory at that point. THATS why we root for her. Not because she morally pure but because we would have done exactly the same thing if we had the same information she had at the start of this.
THIS. People often forget that Penelope saw this sht as a game. We all would've done the same thing. She did it all for survival. She did not know the truth.
Exactly! Not to mention that eckles knew she was full of shit and was using him. He planned to eventually kill her and escape when he had the chance but fell into obsession with her.
Eclis isn't wrong... it was f-ed up of her to have used him like that... but the story is set for us to root for her despite everyone else.
