A decent premise ruined by incredibly bad politics.
Chris is a fun MC and I like that she is hardworking but not a run of the mill girlboss. She’s strong in her own way, but also stumbles as a newbie and makes mistakes. She is reasonably weaker than her male peers, but still gets moments to shine. I really don’t understand why her falling in love with an attractive man is seen as a disservice to her character. She has emotions just like anyone else and was only considered to be an “ice-queen” because she repressed her true emotions. I don’t feel like her personality was changed at all. She essentially experiences her first love with Cedric and acts the way one would expect. God forbid a girl has layers.
I like Cedric a lot as an ML. He’s imposing but still emotes and dotes on her. His clear preference towards her is also seen by the other knights early on. It was funny to see them tease Cedric and Chris for their obvious flirting.
The biggest problem in this manga is Lombard and his whole family. I really thought he lost his mind from the tea or that his maid was brainwashing him. But nope. He just was stupid and made a mistake. But I’m also supposed to forgive him and trust his judgement later. His investigation also just boils down to being lucky enough to overhear two idiots discuss their plan outside his bedroom? The whole thing with his uncle literally raping his mother is just. Wow. So poorly done. It’s just garbage.
