I think Hardy is desperate for someone who's gonna stay with him. Considering he was dumped by 3 fiances in the past. Abel's loyalty to him made him dumb to tolerate the toxicity bcs "Abel is willing to love and stay with him" unlike his past relationships. Abel also thinks the same, bcs he yearns for somebody to stay with him. What i like about Hardy is that when he knew the past of Abel, he invalidated abel's wrongdoing to him, that just bcs he has trauma doesnt mean he can trample on him.. maybe he will tryna talk things out to abel and make him understan. Anyway let's see how the Mc untangles this situation
