I'm taking the shoe scene as the start of a new beginning for Eunhyuk and Suae, rather than an ending between them. The shoes being white definitely is intentional on the author's part. White often represents new beginnings. The shoes box also being pink, representing love. It's a new beginning of their love.
We're now going to reach the new start of Eunhyuk and Suae finally and properly communicating, overcome their regrets, and realize that despite the long time that's passed, they still hold love for each other.

idk how some ppl think that soohyuk is ending. firstly, the korean shoe theory, while interesting, doesn’t mean they’re ending. on the contrary, the chapter was posted on white day where men give gifts to women, often white colored items. and eun gave suae white shoes, so that was a cute detail to me lol. also, suae ran down 13 flights of stairs to say goodbye to eunhyuk, she was concerned in the elevator about his pain and saw him taking medication for his hearing. if suae didn’t love eunhyuk anymore, she wouldn’t have done those things. both suae and eun don’t know everything yet, but they’ve finally started talking to each other. so we’re def gonna get our answers after the hiatus. so pls have patience! cuz ppl have made wild “guesses” abt eunhyuk before too, only for none of those things to come true (like ppl saying eunhyuk would blackmail dohwa with the SD card, etc.). so let’s wait for otl to return!!
