I really agree with you, they sent her to the tower because they thought she would be safe there, not to be tortured. The duke is not guiltless but he was struggling thinking his wife cheated (which was understandable from his POV) and now she was dead. I would even argue her majesty is worse because Perry actually died & she knew what was happening. The only reason she gets to redeem herself is because Perry is a OP FL but otherwise she’d be one of the countless kids that died under her name
Srsly? At least her majesty didnt drug her and force her to pretend to be his daughter against her will to feel less guilty...and she felt regretful and apologetic and raised her like a proper parent smth the shitty father never really did nor felt and still justifies by victimising himself. How can u think ur wife cheated when she is trustworthy...how does hair colour even f matter lol...whattt
I’m not saying the duke is guiltless, far from it as you stated. But the duke and the queen are two sides of the same coin, if Perry is willing to forgive her then I don’t understand the logic behind not giving the duke a chance. The only difference between them is the fact that the queen reached Perry faster than her brother. Also, the hair color is literally a dominant gene that EVERYONE who shares their bloodline inherits bc of the dragon magic or wtv. The duke willingly looked past INFIDELITY for his wife because he loved her that much, was he wrong? Yes, for everything. But that’s part of the tragedy of his relationship with his wife and Perry. Anyways, you don’t have to like the duke to admit the irony of Perry forgiving the queen like she’s just as bad if not worse (but that’s just in my opinion.)
She did the worst by knowing that FL was abused for a whole year and doing nothing. She also turned FL into a spy, someone used to all these situations and more. I don’t see her making her son do all this... if she were truly apologetic, she shouldn’t have used a traumatized child as a spy, returned them to the place of their trauma, and then hidden everything from them until it benefited her.
I’m also confused about how the father “victimized” himself by being regretful, traumatized and blaming himself. He trusted his wife as much as he could, even when no one else (including his own children) did. He treated his daughter better than his other kids (even though he thought she wasn’t his), sent her to a supposed proper place with her "biological father" when his wife died, and prepared to marry her back into the family with the best possible man.
And yes, hair color matters, it’s part of the entire genetic story. It’s one of the fundamental traits in the family. He literally did the best he could with what he had. Who would have known that a dragon would come and ruin everything?
They did not ignore her, they feared that if she grew up, she would realize she was considered a “mistake” and understand that people were gossiping about her being born from infidelity. To protect her, they sent her to live with her “real father.” They weren’t ignoring her, but they couldn’t reach her as easily since she wasn’t legally or officially their daughter. Their goal was for her to live the best possible life in a safe and prestigious environment.
At the same time, they adopted a boy and made him a duke, even though the family cared deeply about bloodlines and lineage. This was done to bring her back into the family, secure her social standing, and ensure she had access to wealth and influence.
The duke loved his daughter unconditionally !regardless of her birth, her power, or her social standing) and he never planned to make her a spy or work for him but he set her up for success. In that way, he gave her a depth of love that the queen could never match.
The queen didnt turn her into a spy tho...she desired to become one to repay her kindness its literally in one of the chapters. She did stay quiet for a year which is exhausting but she took responsibility for it and explained she did it for her kingdom which came first, realised a child was being used than took that time to plan smth to get her out. What did the father do meanwhile??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DIDNT EVEN CHECK. He raised her as a daughter, who cares she isnt yours, youu raised her but its like he waited for the wife to die to get rid of her. Also the father victimised himself by pretending to know nothing and to have done wrong with no bad intention meanwhile clearly as a duke he mist have known wtf the tower was and when the fake dad popped up to get her, after his wife died he showed his true feelings and got rid of her with no second thought. Now he is pretending like oh no my daughter what have I done!! Like a VICTIM.. only the youngest brother is fully justified.
You are making up what the father’s real intention was as if you wrote the story. So I can do the same: what did the queen do meanwhile??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DIDN’T EVEN STOP IT. She let the dragon’s experiments continue, didn’t warn anyone, didn’t protect the girl; she just raised her as a tool, as if it didn’t matter she was being abused. It’s like she waited for every tragedy to pile up so she could manipulate the girl fully, turning her into a spy and forcing her to witness horrors with no one to rely on but the queen herself. And when the girl misunderstood her father, did the queen correct her? OF COURSE NOT. She kept her in the dark, controlled her perception, kept her isolated. In the end, she walks away with the rewards, pretending to be clever and loving, while the girl suffers completely alone.

It kind of pisses me how the fl is willing to forgive the holy kingdoms majesty, but not her own family.i mean i get that they were the one who helped her get out of that tower and raise her like her own family but that doesn't change the fact that she was also a part of that research,i know she (hk majesty) wasn't aware that they were using a child as a research subject, but when she found out she first chose to ignore it but then she realised she can't do this and decided to help her...
Her family were the same they loved her more than she can imagine they are willing to do anything, she went there and saw everything herself but still she is doing this is to them i don't like it ,why can't she forgive them,m not saying what she went through was easy, for a child going through that is unimaginable but they did everything to bring her back....
Uhhhhhhh it's so annoying ...
