It's not unrealistic. This story has a lot of nuance to it. Jingi is definitely better than his uncle. I can prefer Jingi over Heonjae. Even if Heongjae didn't know, they both might be shitty but Jingi is obviously more loyal to one of the only people he truly cares about. I can understand why Heonjae feels resentment towards Jingi and still not like him for it.
