It's clear as day that whatever is happening between Ban and Ray is just sick and toxic obviously, and it's not the matter that Ray is of course not the ML here, but for me the problem is how it's handled at the beginning, visualization of sex scenes with pedo implication in the background, it's just no, pedophilia is way too triggering for me, I can let slide a lot in fiction, but for me some topics just need to be handled correctly even in fiction, maybe here we'll get finally one of not so many correctly addressed victim story and later getting out of trauma phase, that would be amazing because we really need more appropriately portraited trauma, but for now, I'll just let it marinate.

And about that 'distinguish' real life from fiction part, I also used to think that 'it's obvious', but you have no idea how many people cannot do that and later apply/consider fiction content in real life... that's insane, and that's also kinda alarming how fiction is portraited by many people, where later for example many stay in a toxic relationship with any kind of black flag humiliated or beaten not comprehending that it can be something wrong since other people are hyping such behaviors online, or because 'he will change', it's sad but true (discussed with many victims and saw some articles about that), and the amount of such content to the 'normalized' sometimes extended is definitely not helping, unfortunately people have access to everything these days, also those who cannot correctly process events in fiction and understand that it have to stay in fiction and have no impact on their morality

Hm. I understand you however, if you cant handle such topics, no one is forcing you to read and engage with such media.

Tags exist for this reason, and i feel like its common sense to stay away from things you know you are easily influenced by instead of shit on people who arent.

Its like telling people to stay away from meat because you’re vegan. People have different tolerance and i understand that but its truly annoying to see people shit on the author and flood comment sections about these things like they’re being forced to read it. The Author has every right to explore toxic relationships with their fictional characters to any extent, whether or not it is a proper depiction of it or not, because they’re fictional and its their narrative to tell.

They certainly do not owe anyone the perfect victim story and its not their fault if people see obvious toxicity and crime and think “that seems fine”

Exactly, noone can force me or anyone else, and this is why, like I said, I've dropped the series for now, so don't understand your atiitude towards what I said. But I get you just wanted to vent.

Unfortunately there is no correct tagging, especially on mangago, I'm reading BL for over 20 years and it's getting worse, maybe because many topics are basically normalized so people have every right to be dissapointed when they start reading and face the triggering content (many times without even any trigger warnings).

And I will probably surprise you, but people can have their own opinion, which may be different from yours, and that's okay. Noone is forcing them, people just drop the series and give their comments, which I appreciate, because in the massive amounts of series only thanks to such comments many times I know which series have bad storytelling and I just don't need to bother.

And you think who authors create series for? Yes, for readers, of course they can write whatever thet want but while creating the story, like any other media/aspect of life, author is taking responsibility of what he creates, but many forget about that, of course noone is obligated to love such story, we all like different things, but sharing opinion is valid no matter if you like it or not.
And yes, people can have expectations, especially when they portrait particular story as promising. You need to understand both sides, but basically you're doing the same thing like those 'people you complain about', quite a bit of hypocrisy...

In general, BL is flooded with toxic stories, and many times people just have enough, and they have every right to do so, for years we can see this trend, but sex sells quite well, no matter the context. I have a quite high tolerance let's say for topics in fiction, but I'm not shaming others for not being like that, they can share their opinion and don't like particular content (I also have my limits, pedophilia is one of them).
If, as you say, you are so mature, you should know that you cannot project your opinion and mindset onto others, because everyone is different and values other things, even in fiction.

If you like toxic series, go for it, noone is stopping you, but shaming people because they share their different opinion and not like such topics is just shitty, so... I have no intention of continuing the conversation because I see that you just want to vent your frustration without any conversation at a certain level, wish you best and maybe more understanding and tolerance towards others.
