A couple things

I like the little detail of the duke being able to identify everyone on the mansion by their footsteps. Of course it was said to be because he’s a sword master but due to abuse and trauma it’s not uncommon to be able to recognize others from their footsteps… especially abusers.

And I’m glad Luce was able to still spend time with his biological father. The whole time I was thinking ‘why not just share joint custody?’ So I’m glad he visits during the winter.

This may sound a little weird or silly but… the only thing I didn’t like is not really taking the father’s feelings fully into consideration. Yes we got the happiest outcome but imagine not only the love of your life but your child is dead. For years others have been manipulating you into doing their bidding and lying to you just so you can have hope. Then after finding out they’re dead, you find out the child left behind by the one person you truly loved and loved you is (at that point in the story) being intentionally kept away from you so you only learn of his existence when his adoptive parents need something from you(although it was for your child). And not only that, but they want to keep you a secret from that child… then once the child learns the truth he still only calls his biological mother aunt isn’t of also mom. (As in mom and mommy and dad) although I understand they cannot acknowledge each other in public due to politics at least in private. Please. The prince only really has his son now.

I suppose I’m a bit more dramatic but there were definitely more holes and opened ended questions since Luce is still a child and it’s focusing on the theme of found family)
