I only watched the Anime but in curious about the Manga readers opinion on yukio.

Personally he’s my favourite character. In the anime, I feel like most characters just really failed him - and also pressured him into ways of him finally snapping (and joining the illuminati, even tho it was necessary for his own growth ig) I hated how the plot just favoured rin in all ways, like Mephisto (also my fave character) denying him his is past while easily giving it out to rin, and shima (another fave HAHA) giving him access to the enemy while also being blessed with an talent and strengthened yukio always wanted.

Yukio is quite misunderstood, but my opinion might change when I’ll finally start the manga …

Also, god, I hate shiemi, I hope she will be better in the manga

while many hate him, i don't. i only got frustrated on his character at one point but i kinda understood him. some misunderstood his objectives/actions but as far as i can remember, he literally said even before him going to illuminati that he's doing those all for his brother. to protect rin. he doesn't hate rin. he loves his brother.

so im kinda confused why people hate him bc they thought he hates rin. well yea he kinda got rough and violent so maybe that's why?

I caught up to the newest chapter btw (I don’t want to spoil u in case you didn’t but I assume you are already up to date!) and I agree, I still believe that he’s doing everything for rin!! To me, it’s so obvious how much he’s struggling as well since imo he has it just as bad as rin, he’s badly misunderstood but his character and personality are so realistic.

I’m guessing people aren’t used to “flawed” characters, especially when rin has made great development while yukio has been stuck since chapter 1 …

He is one of my favorite characters in fiction simply because he is exactly what I mean by a storm in the bottle. In the way, that other kids talk to him like he is a respected adult but the way adults talk down to him and purposely keep him out of important conversations to the way that his adopted father seems to care more about his brother than him so the way that he seems to other his brother with only increases the amount self hate he has for himself like he really is a masterful character
